FAQ
How long is the training?
The prep phase is self-paced online. The actual certification course is delivered live over a weekend (2 days).
How long does certification last?
Your certification is valid for 24 months. Recertification is required every 2 years to maintain active status and ensure you're up to date.
Can I teach SPEAR once I'm certified?
Yes — once certified, you can teach the SPEAR fundamentals to your students, clients, family, and friends. Affiliation provides additional business support, tools, branding rights, and access to exclusive resources — but certification alone allows you to teach.
What's the difference between Certification and Affiliation?
Certification gives you the knowledge and skills to teach SPEAR. Affiliation gives you business tools, coaching on marketing, a listing on our website, permission to run our Be Your Own Bodyguard® course, and access to High Gear® discounts and licensing.
How long does affiliation last?
Affiliation renews annually. Choose monthly billing or save $200 with the annual option.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly affiliates can cancel anytime. Annual memberships are non-refundable after purchase.
What courses can I teach as an affiliate?
Affiliation gives you a license to teach official SPEAR System® programs — including Be Your Own Bodyguard® and SPEAR-based seminars for your community or students.
Do I need to own a school to affiliate?
No. Affiliates include martial arts instructors, mobile instructors, personal instructors, law enforcement, and military instructors.
What if I want to affiliate later?
You can apply anytime after completing your SPEAR System® Level 1: Fundamentals Certification — but prices and terms may change.
